School centres and church planting

From the watershed of the Congo and Nile rivers, at an altitude of over 2500 m above sea level, down to Lake Kivu at 1400 m above sea level, flourishing Christian communities have developed. And in the middle of this hilly country lies the marketplace of Karengera. Two hundred meters above this marketplace is the Christian centre of Karengera with its schools and chapels.

Within a radius of about 25 km around Karengera there are now many independent parishes and school centres, which Alfred and Lucie Tobler were able to plant and to look after during their time as missionaries in Karengera and now still promote from Switzerland. Visit our centres:

«Pro Rwanda»

"Pro Rwanda" is a charitable and politically neutral association based in Ebnat-Kappel, Switzerland. The association helps the parishes to build churches, chapels and especially school centres. The education of orphans and destitute pupils in primary, vocational and secondary schools is promoted and financed.  

From 1966 to 1998 Alfred and Lucie Tobler were themselves active in Rwanda and are now supportihg this important work from Switzerland.
