Muramba-Mugonero
The Muramba-Mugonero community and
school centre is located 20 km north of Karengera, in a quiet bay of Lake Kivu.
The parish with its six chapels has almost 1000 members and is led by Pastor
Bernard since 2019.
"Compassion International" provides 250
children of the poorest families food, clothes, school fees and medical care.
The 700 primary school pupils squeezed
themselves into old, dark classrooms built in the 1980s and used until the end
of the 2019. What the authorities were demanding for a long time could be
realized in 2020. Director Dieudonné is happy that teaching can now take place
in bright new rooms, to the great delight of the 14 teachers and their pupils.
Seven teachers are teaching 94 boys and
122 girls in the 3-year secondary school.
